Hometown - New Westminster BC
I grew up in New Westminster,BC swimming competitively and running cross country at school. My dad discovered cycling in the late 80’s and began dragging me along. My first bike – a Nishiki Landau Tri- was mounted with aero bars, and I began racing the junior triathlon circuit around BC, qaulifying for Nationals in the 16-19 age category at age 15. I had a couple of season’s of junior bike racing, placing at Provincials and BC Summer Games, before heading off to University of Victoria and a few years hiatus from competitive athletics to study and travel.
I began training seriously again for road cycling at the old age of 25 and joined Team Escape Velocity in 2004. I progressed from Cat 4 to Cat 2 in my first season racing, and in my second season I became an important player in the establishment of the EV Cat 1/2 Team. Since the team's inception in 2005, I have been a loyal Captain on the road delivering top placings and is a critical part of the management team. Several years of work and progress has led to the launch of Garneau Evolution in 2009. dEVo Head Coach, Jeff Ain is Tim's training advisor.
