Another Spring Series, another podium for GE.

Here’s the play-by-play from our Twitter feed of today’s 112km road race:

Murchie road race today for the spring series. We have had good results in the past on this course. Hopefully today is no different.
Weather: pouring and 6 degrees. 25 riders or so in the field. 1 lap of 15 down and the pace is picking up. post.ly/1jrWb
3rd lap and GE rider Jason Thompson going solo on 0 Ave with 20 seconds on the pack.
12 minute lap and Thompson returns to the bunch while GE mate @alistairhoward readies at the front.
Now GE has three off front: Thompson, @alistairhoward and Dave Stephens, plus two others, with 30 sec. gap. Rains let up a bit.
Break continues to hold 30 seconds on field. Wind picks up a bit.
Rain stopped and our break now has a minute lead. Buckosky and Gerth look ready in the pack.
Looks like the break is down to four with three of them GE, while doubling their gap to 2 min.
Photo of break on 0 Ave. That’s @alistairhoward at the front, Stephens third and Thompson on far left. Over 2 min gap.post.ly/1jsdJ
Thompson and Stephens now away on their own, with Howard covering the TR Trades guy 30 seconds back. The pack? 4 min. behind.
GE man Ted Martin and another are also making a move for fifth place with 30 seconds on the bunch.
Howard now soloing for third between our two-man break and the field.
Martin back with Gerth and Buckosky in the bunch.
1st Stephens, 2nd Thompson, 3rd Howard. Good day when you take the top 3 spots.

David Stephens, 1st

Jason Thompson, 2nd

Alistair Howard, 3rd
